Traveling Exhibition Taalmaatjes

picture

The traveling exhibition Taalmaatjes was officially started and opened at the end of November 2018 by mayor Tigelaar in the Raadhuis van Leidschendam-Voorburg.

The exhibition tells the stories of the refugees and permit holders who came to live in the municipality of Leidschendam-Voorburg. They are often taken care of by a 'language buddy'.

This has been due for a number of years to the efforts of a number of organizations involved, including the joint Churches.

The accompanying brochure and the traveling exhibition show that the contact between buddies and status holders is always a reciprocal process. Buddies support people who have come to live with us from another country, but these people also bring something with them, making them richer in society.

Both the panels of the traveling exhibition and the accompanying brochure are supported with beautiful portrait photographs made by members of the Fotokring Leidschendam-Voorburg.

With a limited budget, same-d designed the exhibition. The combined panels are composed of two printed honeycomb cardboard on the outside and one blank in the middle. The 3 panels are attached to each other with wing nuts and reinforced with an iron base. This combination of panels can be quickly and easily disassembled for the traveling exhibition.
