A new edition from the Historical Society Voorburg on the estate, Vreugd en Rust. Originally a country estate that has known various uses in the 3 centuries of its existence.
The motive for taking on this project is the plan of the municipality of Leidschendam-Voorburg to restore the park, in which the country estate is located, to its original state as much as possible. The gardens were developed at the time by the landscape architect Zocher.
Alongside the book is an exhibition in Museum Swaensteyn. Also on 3 different locations, which were part of the estate, panels can be seen showing old photographs of how the venues originally appeared.
